![]() I don’t regret his influence in that department at all as it has been a real blessing. I have little doubt I wouldn’t have gambled if it wasn’t for my father. Without doubt, they knew how to enjoy themselves. How wonderful it would be to go back in time and just watch my Dad and family enjoy themselves. It’s the reason why we go every year as a Merry Pilgrimage to enjoy three days of horse racing but remember and pay respect to those loved ones who are sadly gone. They loved their horse racing and come sun or high water they would be on the Norfolk coast every September. Uncle Keith, Roy & Fred would go to the Eastern Festival at Great Yarmouth. This was back in the 70s onwards, but not beyond the 80s. My Dad’s side were much more into their gambling. ![]() It proves they do gamble which is something. They aren’t really into their gambling beyond the lottery, scratch cards and Grand National. I have a few left, well a couple, from my mum’s side of the family, Uncle Alan and Chris. I have pretty much all I need except for the chemicals for the paper. The sad fact about life is that the older you get the less uncles you have left. I don't usually buy online because I don't use a credit card, but I may get one soon. I am curious of checking out the Hated Online Auction Site. I didn't notice darkroom equipment but I wasn't looking for it at the time. They have only new stuff, but one of the salesman was so happy to talk to someone of a younger generation interested in developpement he actually gave me his e-mail and said he could sell me a few items I need really cheap! I went to Photoservice in the old Montreal for a few other things (including chemicals for negatives). I found Illford enlarger filters on Craigslist. A guy sold me an almost complete kit for 50$(including a Beseler 67cp enlarger!). I found most of my equipment on Kijiji Montreal. I am in the Montreal Camera Club and sadly am the only member that seems to be still shooting film. You should check out the local camera clubs. They have a second store now, but I am referring to the one in old Montreal. I have not seen any enlargers, but it's a good place to ask. The place may be open, but sometimes you can't just buy any film.2 clerks, two jobs. Ask, and they may know more that is there. They have a 'consignment' display counter (not really that big) that I have picked up a few items. These guys are actually a store you can go there. Their website is superb- worth bookmarking. They have excellent enlargers and accessories but they ain't cheap. ![]() (iii) KHB Photographic is a good Canadian specialist darkroom dealer, but they're in Mississauga. This means that the Hated Online Auction Site may be the best place to look, and in fact, most used darkroom equipment goes for about ten cents on the dollar there now. ![]() (ii) Some/most dealers don't want used darkroom stuff in their shops, because it takes up space, moves slow, and has negligible resale value. I'm sure they don't have used equipment, but if you sent them an email, they might tell you who to talk to locally. They have darkroom supplies including paper and chemicals, and possibly the best Canadian prices on film. (i) Photoco is an online-only store in Pointe-Claire. Audrey, here are some thoughts, although I don't live in Montreal and I don't know your local used equipment dealers.
